Artemio Norino was slow to take the kick. During this time San Antonio HotSPURS's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alonso Snider got free with Drew Casey in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dale Kirkpatrick in the 21st minute of play forced San Antonio HotSPURS's goalkeeper Domingo Chin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domingo Chin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dale Kirkpatrick went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Domingo Chin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dale Kirkpatrick in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute of the match University of Rochester got a corner. San Antonio HotSPURS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wawrzyniec Damaski ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Wawrzyniec Damaski got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Domingo Chin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Domingo Chin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dale Kirkpatrick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for San Antonio HotSPURS! In the 38th minute Alonso Snider shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Drew Casey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38thth minute of the game Alonso Snider who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but University of Rochester's Drew Casey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Antonio HotSPURS's goalkeeper Domingo Chin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Leroy Vega managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Antonio HotSPURS's supporters rose to their feet, but Leroy Vega was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Drew Casey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 43 played minutes University of Rochester got a freekick which was hit by Wawrzyniec Damaski. Alonso Snider received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Drew Casey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 46 minutes, Dale Kirkpatrick managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. University of Rochester's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dale Kirkpatrick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half University of Rochester were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dale Kirkpatrick stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, University of Rochester's Wayne Bragg got a free kick in the 50th minute. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Antonio HotSPURS's goalkeeper Domingo Chin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Drew Casey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alonso Snider, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Micah Alston heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Domingo Chin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dale Kirkpatrick in the 83rd minute of play. Dale Kirkpatrick blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Domingo Chin having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dale Kirkpatrick got free with Domingo Chin in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th match minute, University of Rochester was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maxwell Calcagnini to maneuver through the defense. The University of Rochester players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
