I don't think there's a technique to win 50-50 ball. it depends on your luck.

It all depend on your positioning. Try to predict where the ball will be landing at.

Pretty much, all you can do is to position yourself further back on defense and wait for the tackle because 5/10 chances you'll miss and concede a goal. This is based from experience.

Sometimes for me, I notice whoever touched the ball last has an advantage when it comes to 50/50 situations. Sometimes I may have not touched the ball last and my player delays with passing an open ball, and my opponents grabs possession sometimes due to this
