I ask that question becuase it seems to me there is not much freedom of speech in football what i mean by that is if you say a ref had a terrible game the likely hood is you will probably be fined in some sort of way.

www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2057339...

This article above (By way i don't read this paper) i just find amazing everything souness said's in it i agree with regrading the modern footballer and tevez but has football got to a stage where freedom of speech is more or less lost .

I mean is it that bad in football that what ever you say for example to a ref or what souness said that the likely hood is you will get a fine just for saying what most was thinking.

Finally by the way freedom of speech i mean the examples above not the recent terry events which i thing is wrong if proven they was.

Good for Tevez. What Souness said was wrong and unprofessional, this will teach him to do his job properly. You don't just sum up 1 player over just 1 incident that may or may not have happened. If he says things like this about Joey Barton then he has a point because there's plenty to back it up. But this is 1 incident and even if it did happen it didn't warrant what Souness said.

Tevez has no shame... He keeps on maintaining his perfect innocence claim when we all know he joins a club for money, himself and fame. Now he's gonna try a get some money of Souness

If Souness is being sued for this, then he probably said this stuff against Tevez in a way that made it seem like a fact. Freedom of Speech is a right existing in most countries. However, if you haven't learned yet (which you eventually will), there are MANY things out there that the freedom of speech doesn't protect. Let's use the article as an example. Souness is being sued for libel. Libel is another word for defamation. Defamation is the false claim against someone said in a factual manner that gives them a negative image. This can also apply to groups, governments, businesses, etc. So what Tevez is saying with this legal action is that Souness doesn't have his facts straight, basically. If Souness would have said it in a different manner where it didn't seem so factual but instead opinionated, Tevez wouldn't have a case against him.

Are you being seriously linkin really are you what's all this sticking up for tevez i know people are entitled to a opinon makes a debate more intersting of course will differnt ones.

But what i don't understand for the life of me is why the hell are you sticking up for tevez through all this can you please say to me why? because what sourness said was completely bang on the money it was 100% correct .

He is right players have it to good and as fans you can't relate to that and he thought tevez was the best example around at this minute of time but for tevez to sue somone for just speaking his mind and not swearing or being rasicst to tevez then to sue sourness is just pathetic imo.

I mean is tevez gonna sue me next for me calling him a "money grabbing spoilt brat who throws his dummies out of the pram" i better watch saying this i might get sued for this i mean if you say "tevez is overrated" your likely to get sued for that as well so you have to watch really.

Problem is there is not enough freedom of speech in football what i meant if you say for example said that a ref had a terrible game of course without the swearing/rasict comments then you get fined just for saying ref "That was a terrible game" that is the problem is you can't even put a nice opinon on how someone has done or what someone has done without being fined.

So should we just not say anything at all in football if you can't say anything basic like the example above ?

The difference between you saying something bad against Tevez and Souness saying something bad is that you don't have access to the mass public like Souness does. You can say anything you want about Tevez...it won't matter because you're not spreading word of your opinion to the masses. Souness has access to...television? Radio? He has the ability to publicly humiliate people and spread rumors that everyone would start believing. Tevez feels that what Souness said wasn't accurate and is thus suing him for libel, or defamation, a type of speech that is not protected under most if not all "freedoms of speech" around the globe. You keep saying that Souness gave his opinion...but if he really did that, Tevez wouldn't have a case against him. Souness must have said it in a way that didn't make it seem like an opinion. It must have sounded factual.

Whether Tevez really is whatever he is or not doesn't matter according to the court that will decide this case. They will only care about one thing: did Souness make a factual-sounding statement about Tevez or was it opinionated?

Above is the actual video of sourness saying what he actually said about tevez and footballers in general but to be sued is a joke really but i can understand your points of views above.
