Good day, Power Soccer users!

I'm here to talk to you about this community in general, people in it, types of players, types of attitude, et caetera!
But first I'd like to mention something about you guys. Yes, you and many people keep their thoughts for themselves, and our community needs opinions and ideas. This forum, the chat, everything here is available for that, there is a small text box where you can share almost anything with everyone else. If you have a complaint, shout it out loud because nobody will judge you. If you feel offended, express yourself in the forums with the right manor, there is a special forum section just for that (of course, without giving examples, nobody is to blame anyone, don't blame the player, blame the game!). See this is how we should react, otherwise this community will never grow better. In fact, administrators should start being more patient and start understanding users who actually have a point. Now, why have I mentioned that administrators have to be patient is because some of them rush into warning or punishing users for certain useless posts, but believe me, EVERYBODY has a point when transmitting something online to this whole community! Be patient, explain to others the situation, help everyone understand the things they don't! That's all I have to say about that!

Alright, now that we're done with one subject, let's jump to types of players. See, there are so many different types, and of course I'm not even eligible nor up-to-date with all of them, so of course I won't be able to enumerate them, yet I still am here to talk about the usual ones so you kinda' get the idea of the game.
Mostly, players (as in users when playing matches, apart from their activity in the forums/chat/others) divide in two halves: friendly and not-very-talkative.
Friendly people know the rules of aesthetics and good behavior, and most of the time, when meeting somebody in a match, they greet the person. Now, before I get into this, let me remind you that nobody is obligated to do so, but you can imagine it is a thing of respect, respect for the game itself. Anyway, this is what we are suppose to do, all of us. It doesn't add to fair play, neither it helps you much here, but it is a form of evolving yourself. And believe me, it is a deeply psychological thing, yet it is obvious, that people act on an online server (as in a virtual world) as they do in real life. It's all about the brains' capability of getting used to one type of bahavior and transmitting it most of the time in real life. This happens in such a way that if you never think of changing yourself or changing certain aspects, you will never get the impulse needed, and so you shall remain as you are, used to how you move and how you "dance" in this world. Most of these impulses that affect your behavior are supported by actions, usually, in real life. If you're a boring person out there, you're a boring person here too! Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of exceptions, but let me remind you I am talking in a general sense, these things apply for the majority.
Now, based on what I have told you about peoples' behavior, you can imagine that we could be all the same. We could all be friendly to each other or we could stand mute and do nothing to improve the community or even ourselves. Because many users around here are either shy, either simply rude and not wanting to speak to others but their friends, I think us, the rest, while understanding the problem, we could actually make this place better by being nice to everyone, even if we do not get the same response. Let me remind you that being nice never hurt anyone, all you need is patience and understanding.

I hope you're with me in what we have discussed up there, because now it's time to talk about some extremities in that subject. I'm talking about rudeness, rude people, people that have that certain attitude pushing you to your limits. Remember, always be nice to everyone, if you get a rude or insulting response, do not answer, leave them alone in their own misery (who knows, maybe they're just having a bad day). Thing is, these days, there are plenty of people who easily get mad after a loss and start insulting this and that; that, my friends, is not what you want to be. Whatever the price, even if it's a bet, even if the player is mocking you, don't EVER cry or get mad over a defeat. You have all the time in the world to win other matches and improve your game and have fun with friends.
I really felt the need to say that because, really, people don't know how to have fun around here anymore. The point of the game is to have fun, not to insult people, not to shout out loud what a great hot shot you are, neither to win everything at any cost. There are so many other things to do around if you really can not stand the game itself, just wonder around the site and find oh so many opportunities and open doors for you to explore. Either that, either be creative and have fun your own way, just keep within the rules of the site. Do that, nobody in this world will ever try to stop you.

Speaking of which, regarding what I've said about having fun. I just came back after a really long time of inactivity and things changed. I understand the fact that the game is no longer for free, yet that doesn't mean the community should be boring! I mean ok, alright, the forums are still excellent, yet the chatrooms are empty, people started to leave the game. That's not how you do it, my friends! As I just said, there are so many other things to do here besides just playing for the win!

Bottom line is that your behavior and manners contribute to this beautiful community. People need to start looking at the bright side of things and in the same time, we need to learn to respect the unwritten rules of this site in order to make it better. Also, different points of view affect the atmosphere, so this is what I mean when I say we need to try to understand every bit. In order to reach a commune or similar behavior, we need to start analyzing people. Not judging them, but just trying to read them as they were a book. I can't go further, I really hope you have my point.

For now, that's it, so please state your own opinion about what's going on and contribute to this manifest, if I'm allowed to call it that way!
If there is anything I forgot to mention, also feel free to leave a reply.

Cheers,
Razvi

Welcome back! You sound like a true elder in PS there ;)

It is great to be reading this in the forums these days because it has pretty much hit the nail on the head. I read all of it and you've got some very good, wise points in there. That the communtiy as a whole would do well to listen to.

I think it was certainly long enough to cover everything ;)

I liked the different view that was given to what I am used to seeing, perhaps thats a bit of the community from 2 years back shining through. Very nice post, I'll be surprised if this doesn't pick up a star, which it probably would, even by older standards in these forums :)

what a great thread, it deserves a SOTW.

you described well what the spirit of the game shoudl be like. but i'm afraid that those who should think about their behaviour in the game don't notice this thread. but maybe we can do something for this great thread and the attention it deserves and show it to people who are getting mad about a defeat or an unfair player.

One of the best thread i read in age. You covered everything well with detail and explaination. I only disagree with one part. You mentioned that admin need to be more patient with user who posted useless and senseless posts. I disagree with that. When we posted our first post in the forum,a list of forum do and don't was there for us to read and sign. Since they agree the agreement, they should accept whatever punishment or warning that come their way when they post senseless and useless post.

Yes, indeed, but imagine you were the silly little kid who's bored of reading, doesn't check the forum rules or doesn't know how to red in English and you get banned for nothing... It's demoralizing, not fun and it can affect somebody in a bad way. Imagine how good it would be for admins to have a different view and just correct the problem, and only if the problem persists, then fix it permanently. It's just a different way of thinking, it's like warning someone two times! If you think that would be useless, yes you have a point. But I'm just aiming for a more peaceful and happier place around here.

Thanks anyway, everyone! But, again, I'd like to say this one more time. I need your opinion on the topic, not on how well I have covered it, there's always something missing!
Also, I have to agree, this post isn't really for forumers but for people that are bonded to the game itself, not the whole site! So uh, spread a word about this post, who knows, maybe people WILL read it eventually!

About the admin stuff you mentioned...I'd just like to add that people should not jump the gun and complain about a ban if a CA, for example, places an incorrect one. It's not the end of the world and there is always a way to contest the ban. MAs are the ones who can overrule a ban placed by a CA or FA. I understand how it would be frustrating but don't blow a gasket just yet. Send the MAs an email at pf_ma@powerchallenge.com...

If they decide that your ban was well placed, chances are that the ban was more fair than you think. They tend to look at this as a group, give their opinions and give a final ruling. Even if they don't like a particular user for some reason they know better than to let anything personal get in the way. Of course you can start complaining but hopefully only after this step if you get rejected :)

Also, if you're looking to contest a ban by sending the MAs an email, please try and not swear up a storm or say that someone is dumb. By all means, show displeasure in the ban you received but try being constructive instead of destructive. Explain what led to the ban and why you believe it was placed unfairly. It's a much easier process than some may think.

Nice to see you again bud.

I agree with what you mentioned. But i am sure,an admin always give a warning or two before placing a ban on the user if the user still does not listen. That how i work in the past when i was a Fa.

That's how things work, yes, it was the same here when I was FA also. Alright, my point is not really well supported but I do have a point, we all do! Thing is there will always be a topic like this to discuss, so I'm still waiting to be asked anything, or somebody to disagree...

Anyhow, thank you everyone! Much appreciated all comments and opinions, and since this is my first SOTW, though I've tried twice in the past, you can imagine I'm pretty happy! And even better, I'm finally reaching the 1000 posts mark!

Im just gonna comment on this since it is the only thing i find interesting here.
Here are some things...

  • First of all, an experienced forumer knows that he/she doesn't try to create stars or great posts...That is obvious and noone like people who are aiming for star just because they think it is cool. You should take it a privilege to have stars.
  • Secondly, we dont rush and spam to Milestones...generally the great people go slow and accumulate over time. Not saying you are rushing (i certainly have) but it isnt a great thing to do when you kinda brag about yourself :S
  • Im sure you love me commenting on it, since you obviously comment to keep it alive every 2-3 posts.

It is a very well deserved star. Not gonna lie about that. Nice to meet you. If i sound cynical or mean in the post, sorry. Im usually very nice.

So sorry mate, but I generally feel that threads like this doesn't have much of an effect to users that play on power soccer. Not gonna lie, it's a nice written thread and you seem well educated. But seriously, if you genuinely want to make an impact to users, if that was your main aim. I don't think you should type long essays :P unless you just wanted to impress those who are usually active on the forums that read stuff such as these. If that's true, then you managed to do so!

I mean I read this thread and got bored.. I couldn't be bothered to read on. Respect to you for having the time to write such an essay though, you had the time. You also managed to grab a star of the week award or whatever it stands for. So Congrats pal! Maybe you should be a journalist :P

No, I shouldn't be a journalist, you should try to grow up and try to find out the topic of the thread first. You never know how many users do not post anything yet they read a lot! They don't have to be addicted and attached to this forum and post every day! And regarding what you have said, I truly disrespect you for what you say, after you have "taught" me about presumptions and all that, still you dare to come up here and speak of that. You are allowed to prove your point in this community, to speak what you want to speak, but what you did was plain rude after all we spoke about!

The ones with MBO tons of wins dont come to the forums. The ones who come to the forums are the intellignet ones.
