After reading some responses from another thread I decided to make this thread in General Discussion to remind everyone it is still alive, and we are active!

Here are some of the comments in another thread created today:

I had forgotten that SOTWb exists lol.(because I haven't seen any starred threads lately). It looks to me like quality has dropped so much, and sometimes I just get sick of reading at forum pointless arguments, wailing about market players etc. and nothing original and creative

It does exist! And from the looks of it, we have a pretty solid group ready to jump at any thread that looks worth our while. Keep in mind we ARE here and we're always looking for something that of quality and uniqueness.

Agree with amon. Haven't seen any starred thread recently, prolly cuz of the pretty low quality of the forum, like amen said

Quality may not be the issue, but as you said the type of threads being created. In my opinion threads can have quality even if it is critiquing the crews work on how they are progressing in the game. However, that is not the kind of threads that this board is looking to star. It doesn't have to be a life lesson or anything of that nature but something just worth reading and took some effort!

The threads are never ignored, they are talked about, and there are reasons as to why they do or do not get stars.

Exactly !

For those of you who are still confused what this thread is about, let me go across a few points so that it can be clarified!:

- SOTWB stands for Star Of The Week Board. A group of select users fit to pick threads created by users across the forums which have detailed writing and something that sparks a general interest to the community
- SOTW's can be won by anyone!
- Is there a prize of getting a SOTW? By your thread you'll receive a star which will attract more attention to your thread therefor awarding your excellent writing.

To read more about the SOTWB and what a SOTW is, please read here.

Moved to the appropriate section in order to the thread: Where to post your Thread ~ Dragon

Lately it has been depressing to see the good threads that are being ignored. Start doing your job again!

Yeah the SOTWB may not really be noticeable, but it is active believe me. They are more of a "behind the scenes" board, and I know nev72 will do an excellend job as president :D

Yes, SOTWb is certainly something that people often don't realise the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes. When I was president it was quite a big job and I doubt that workload has decreased. It also produces a very small (visibly) output. A few stars on some threads.

But the board is filled up with passionate people for our forums (who also don't get any formal recognition for thier commitment) and they do a great job discussing the threads. I've not been there in a while but I am pretty sure it is the same if not better now.

Powersoccer is lucky to have them.

As Phan said, I am the new President of the SOTWB with Des and Kes as VPs. On behalf of the SOTWB, I apologise for the lack of SOTWs and I can assure you that we will be starring more threads soon.
