Off Side is the forum section where you can create and participate in Quizzes! Here is a little info about how to create and how to participate in them.


What is a Quiz?

A quiz is any continuing thread that contains questions put to the users who then post their guess at the answer. Once the question is answered correctly the points are noted and tallied, and a new question is posted


What is a Quiz Master and what is his/her responsibility?

Each quiz will have a quiz master who is the creator and manager of the thread.

The quiz master has the responsibility of laying out the rules for the quiz and starting it off with the first question. As well as keeping the quiz current and the players’ scores updated regularly.

A good Quiz Master is there for the long haul. However, the original quiz creator can pass the role of quiz master off to any other user should they no longer have time to keep the quiz going. This must be announced in the thread.

Each new quiz must be titled specifically to identify it as a quiz in the list of threads, as the Offside section has many different types of threads other than quizzes.

The Quiz threads must be titled like this for example;

QUIZ; The Lyrics Game

Or,

QUIZ; The Love, Hate or OK game


Notes for Quiz Masters

- A Quiz Master should not flood the forum with Quiz Threads. Only create what you can handle

- A new Quiz must not appear to be a duplicate of another active quiz, otherwise a Forum Admin will close it and direct users to the original active quiz thread



What do the quiz players do?

Answer the most recent question only. Remember you will have to click to the most recent page to find the latest question.

Have fun, follow the rules of the quiz, and enjoy the competition!



What can’t the players do?

In Quizzes you CANNOT...

- Spam. Please stay on topic, and ‘on quiz’. Don’t write: "This is hard" or something similar (It's spamming!)

- Complain about a Quiz

- Take over a thread that isn't yours

- It is a mandatory rule of most quizzes, unless otherwise stated in an individual quiz's rules, that you DO NOT use google or any other search engine or method to locate answers to questions on the internet. This is considered cheating.

can we use this thread to complain about the existence of quiz threads in general? or should there be a separate whinge-repository in Praise/Wail?

NO you cannot use this thread to complain. You must complain in the Praise and Wail Section and ensure you title your thread as thus; QUIZ COMPLAINT; (insert title of thread here)

After reading this illuminative for quizzes thread, I can't omit saying this below bloke;

we will make a pact Jefco right now that you will be baptised the Aussie boy of our society as soon as Henry gets officially removed, no second before or after, which is about time to happen since he has already perished, he has ages to appear, i.e. his days are numbered and so it's only a matter of time till that happens...

How do i create a quiz plz

Just create a unique quiz with the title: QUIZ: xxx, explain what it is about really and your on your way. Best to see if any of your ideas for a quiz have been made a quiz already though.
