Yes...you do. It either all or nothing now :)

Is it possible for me to play a ranked game without being a club member?

No.It is not possible. You need to have cm.

You go to tournaments to answer your fisrt question and for the second you yes you would need to have cm to play.

If you pay for a tournament, it will be ranked, because
tournament became ranked.

You can also play against an opponent for fun using the queue if you use 'quick game'

To add on, the quick games aren't ranked don't get confused :)
