*This is a relatively small work on what I have seen while on Power Soccer and a hope I have for its future*
In our present lives, we live in a world where violence occurs frequently. It seems like every time you turn on the news or look at a newspaper, something bad is going on. People are fighting, people are arguing, and as a result people are dying. However, if you ask someone walking on the street whether they believe people are trying to join together in order to provide peace to all, I think you would more likely see that they believe people are coming together for good.
It was 1860. Abraham Lincoln had won the election and became president of the United States. A year after, many states decided that they didn’t want to be a part of the United States for many reasons so they made a group called the Confederates. They didn’t like the fact that they had to pay high taxes on items that came to them from different states. They didn’t like how President Lincoln would run things. They thought he would take all of their rights and the things they enjoyed. The Confederates had enjoyed many small things for free or for a low price, but now they knew the things they loved would go away.
The rest of the states that decided to stay together, known as the Union, held talks with the Confederates in hopes that they can talk things out and reach a reasonable solution, but it failed. The Confederates said that they would go to war and fight for what they wanted to keep. This is where it all began. Now for 4 years, the two sides fought one another. First they were both even as they plotted how best to defeat the other side. The confederates gained a lead as they took down the Union Army everywhere they went. It seemed as if the Union should quit now and save face while they could, but they decided to stay in the fight.
During the second half of the 4 year war, a spark was ignited inside the Union Army and suddenly they started to win battles left and right. The Confederates were being pushed back and the Union was gaining the lead now in this war. Their tactics were amazing and they had strong leaders leading them to victory. However, both sides had a lot of people fighting for them and as many people were losing their lives for the cause, they both realized that this fighting would get them nowhere. It was then in 1865, both leaders from both sides decided to lay their weapons down and call it quits together.
Although the Union Army had the lead, they both decided to end the fighting because it was costing them too many lives. Two sides were once seen as one United States, but now family brothers, sisters, and friends were put against each other in a senseless war. After a few years, both sides came back together as one. Even though the Confederates were still angry with the Union, they vowed to remain together so they could work out their issues and create a more peaceful United States.
When you look at this war closely, it resembles Power Soccer in many ways. As a newcomer to the country of Power Soccer, I have seen a once united country divide into two armies, CMs vs. Non-CMs. People have split for many different reasons. They have split because they feel they are being taxed too much for items, they are seeing the game change and they see that some of the things they once enjoyed leisurely are now being decreased a little. Now a war has risen. People are fighting, people are arguing, and as a result, people are leaving. However, we have not all come to realize that this war is for a cause that is not really justified. We must lay down our swords that are the harsh words we use against others and leave the field together. It doesn’t quite matter what the state of the match is currently because right now we are hurting each other.
It's not possible for us to move forward as one United Power Soccer country, if we do not all try to move in the same direction and work things out better along the way. The road to greatness is hard, but when we work together and put our small differences aside, we can build this country, Power Soccer, to be one of the best places the world (the internet) has ever seen.
If you asked a user sitting in the chat room whether they believe people are trying to join together in order to provide peace to all, I think you would more likely see that they believe people are not. Yet, if you ask me, I believe that there is a strong hope that we will all learn to fight as an army of one.

We are not going in a war, but that is a great allegory as union is the only solution to everything, and the way a small but yet strong and demanding society that PS is to go. You know, even a worm will turn. So better let's not have worms with not creating worms or treating people like warms. Coming with peace to be all of us the only way.

Actually the South (Robert E. Lee) surrendered because they had no chance of winning the war. The soldiers of the confederacy were tired, demoralized, and beaten. The South was physically ruined and they realized that fighting more would only worsen the damage to their side. In other words, they surrendered not because they both decided to end the war, but because there was no point in fighting further. (Just clarifying).

Couldn't have said it better. Honestly there is no point in fighting the changes if you are a non cm. Non cm's are indispensable and serve little purpose to the game itself other than being opponents for the CM players to play. Its best to just purchase CM and support the game we all love to play. The 'battle' that is being waged is pointless.
Overall this thread is one of the best ive read in a long time... and im very critical of alot of things ;)
I love how you related this to the Civil War because it ties in perfectly. The point you made was great and I agree 100% with where you are going. Thanks for sharing, and this is a thread that should be read in its entirety to be fully appreciated.
I appreciate the nice words. It certainly feels like there is a war brewing though. We have a chance to stop it from occurring, but it takes more than a few people who can understand what needs to happen in PS for things to go well. We need a combined effort from all if we really expect to see this game push into the future. Certainly a community divided only becomes separate nations looking to be heard.
To add: Yes you are correct Troy. I had to twist a small part of history to prove a point, but thank you for clarifying. I didn't want to give the history lesson, but glad you know your history haha. I can confidently say that I am not taking AP U.S History.

nice thread, a bit of a dull outlook on the power soccer, I wouldn't have said that CM/Non-CM was going to create a war...I have to be honest and say it was not my favourite thread. Perhaps it is because the American civil war has so little in it that I can relate to personally as I am of course not American. Despite this, my huge congratz on winning this contest.

More than a small part! :)
What you wrote doesn't hold much similarity to the civil war I've learnt and studied about. The southerners were forced to surrender, forced to rejoin the states, and after that did everything in their power to turn the clock back to pre-war. However that is just a criticism of the facts, it doesn't affect the story which is well written and interesting.
hehe you have learned well thegreatest2. You are very correct that they did in fact get forced to surrender and join back, but the coolese thing about the civil war was how people came back together and seriously started to try and make changes for the future as well as try to re-create the past.

Yes, I'd have to agree that I did present a particularly dull outlook on PS and I'd like to eventually achieve a great outlook on it. Saying that there was a war only was used to almost parallel the civil war. It is definitely not true that there is a possible war between Cm/non-cm. It was just things that all saw in the past weeks and I wanted to express it in a different light. I do think that It could have been a bit more interesting. I have to say that as PS has been written about time after time, it is always a challenge to give some sort of look on PS that is just pure bliss, but it is something I will always aim for.
Thank you sincerely for reading it though. I am glad everyone is reading it and commenting on it whether it is a small critique of it or just a simple congratz because it helps me learn to create more interesting threads in the future.
